Sasrét Hunting Castle

A HUNTING TRADITION SHAPED BY FOREST AND SEASON

Where the Forest Meets the Table

Set within the wooded Zselic Hills, Sasrét is one of Hungary’s most renowned hunting estates — a place where the rhythms of the forest have shaped life for generations.

Surrounded by a 200-year-old beech forest and more than 4,000 hectares of hunting grounds, the castle offers an experience rooted not simply in the pursuit itself, but in a much older relationship between landscape, season and tradition.

The day begins in the stillness of the forest. Later, game from the day’s hunt is brought to the castle kitchen, where the chef transforms it into a dinner shaped by the land itself.

What begins at first light returns to the table by evening — making each meal not merely part of the stay, but the final chapter of the day’s experience.

The Hunting Experience

Hunting at Sasrét is shaped around the season, the landscape and the experience of each guest. Accompanied by knowledgeable local professionals, days in the forest may be arranged privately, with every detail considered individually.

The experience extends beyond the hunt itself — into the quiet rituals of departure and return, conversations beside the fire, and a dinner prepared from the day’s game.

Discover Sasrét More Personally

Through the Club, Sasrét’s traditions of forest and table — from days in the hunting grounds to dinner prepared from the day’s game — are woven with an original encounter conceived exclusively for the estate.

The full Club Edition is shared personally upon enquiry.

Access Beyond What Is Shown

Not every castle within the World Castle Club circle is presented publicly. Some private estates and experiences remain intentionally discreet and are introduced only when there is a genuine fit.

Access may be extended through personal introductions, existing members or a direct conversation with World Castle Club.

If you feel aligned with the spirit of the community, we welcome your enquiry.
